Cardno Acil is a leader in international development, managing projectsthroughout Asia-Pacific. We are the managing contractor for theAustralia Indonesia Basic Education Program (BEP). The BasicEducation Program is part of the Australian Indonesia partnership forReconstruction and Development, targeting basic education in areas of Indonesia.
The Basic Education Program continues to support Australia's focus on poverty alleviation, gender issues in education, junior and secondary education and education standards and governance.

We are currently seeking an International Advisor for the Professional Development of School Supervisors and Principals. The role will consistof 3 or 4 inputs totaling nine months between January 2009 and April 2010.

The consultant will require the following skills and experience:

Essential:
- Relevant qualifications in education.
- Expertise in professional development of school principals and school supervisors.
- Experience in policy making in relation to professional development.
- Awareness of national education systems.
- Experience in assessment of school leadership.
- Specific experience of school inspection and monitoring.
- Experience working in South East Asia/Indonesia highly desirable.
