I. Background on ACTEDACTED is an independent international, private, non-partisan andnon-profit organization that operates according to principles of strictneutrality, political and religious impartiality, and nondiscrimination.ACTED was created in 1993 to support populations affected bythe conflict in Afghanistan. Based in Paris, France, ACTED now operatesin 22 countries worldwide, with over 120 international and 2500national staff. ACTED has a 40 million budget for over 150 projectsspanning 8 sectors of intervention; including emergency relief, foodsecurity, health promotion, economic development, education &training, microfinance, local governance & institutional support,and cultural promotion. II. Country Profile ACTED established presence in Indonesia in 2004 through anemergency response to the tsunami. Since then, ACTED Indonesia hasexpanded its role through multi-sector interventions that addressrelief, rehabilitation and development. ACTED responded withhumanitarian assistance in Nias after the earthquake of 2005, launchedWATSAN projects in latrine construction and hygiene education inschools, and has built capacity amongst Meulaboh boat builders andsupported the construction of fishing vessels. Recent projects includethe construction of roads and bridges in the Tugala Oyo region toimprove humanitarian access, and a livelihoods recovery project innorthern Nias. Future projects include school construction, forestmanagement, an integrated disaster preparedness initiative and expandeddevelopment programs in Sumatra. Today ACTED Indonesia has over 50staff and two offices in Nias and Meulaboh.

III. Position ProfileThe Reporting Intern ensures the production of timely reportsfor the Reporting Manager as well as the Country Director. He/sheassists the Reporting Manager and the Country Director in developinginternal and external country communication strategies.Under the supervision of the Reporting Manager, the reporting intern will: Collect and synthesize data from the field, and draft reportsin cooperation with project management, finance, monitoring andevaluation, and other field coordination departmentsAssist the Reporting Manager in developing project proposals,addressing ad hoc donor requests or catalysing action on specificprojects or components of projectsLiaise with external partners and represent ACTED incoordination and information meetings with NGOs, donors, and otherhumanitarian actors.

IV. Qualifications:Postgraduate diploma in Journalism, International Relations or a relevant field Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English (French in a francophone post/Spanish in a Central American post) Excellent writing and communication skills Ability to work efficiently under pressure.

V. Conditions:Field Intern benefits include: a 300 USD per month livingallowance, coverage of all accommodation, food, and travel costs, aluggage allowance of 50 kg., and the provision of medical,repatriation, and life insurance.
